New Year, New Growth

A new year is time for new growth.

An Odds and Ends garden is a great way to teach a little one the exciting science of plants, and an oh-so-necessary love of and respect for nature.

Parents.com has some very easy directions on how to start an indoor garden using kitchen scraps. You can click here for directions. Just a tip from Nana – those of us living in colder climates shouldn’t put growing plants on widow sills unless we’re sure that the glass is well insulted and won’t get too cold at night. Near a window is better than directly by a window. You want your plant to look as healthy and festive as the one photographed by Michael Piazza.

Thanks for our Florida grandma Kris for sharing this tip.
